Ecofriendly Silk Kimono

$100.00

This Natural Dye Kimono is crafted from ethically sourced organic cotton for an ultra soft feel. Weaving traditions over centuries-old are applied by the local women's cooperative of San Juan La Laguna, Guatemala. Natural dyes derived from local plants and minerals, such as indigo, turmeric, rosemary, purple basil, and chimney ash give this silky-to-the-touch kimono its stunning, one-of-a-kind pattern. Ikat or jaspe is the traditional technique used to tie and dye the threads, which are then woven on a back strap loom. Perfect to add to your wardrobe, this kimono is a stylish layer for both spring and fall.

Features:

  • One size fits most: Our kimonos measure approximately 31-33 inches wide and 34-36 inches tall (including the fringe at the bottom).
  • This kimono/robe was made with 100% organic silk cotton thread and the Ikat weaving process; and was naturally dyed using locally sourced plants and herbs

Care:

  • Not suitable for machine dryers, dry on a flat surface
  • To ensure this blouse has a long life, we recommend washing it by hand or on a delicate spin cycle only
