Vintage Rebozo - Mayan Shawl

These vintage shawls or as we call them in Guatemala "perrajes", are handwoven on backstrap looms in various parts of Guatemala. High quality cotton and silk, these are cherished pieces of Mayan culture used to carry babies while working around the home or fields.

This shawl comes from Quetzaltenago, also known as Xela, pronounced "sheh-la". Traditionally, these shawls are quite short and used for covering the shoulders. They can also be worn as headdresses or around town for carrying items. This beautiful shawl is perfect for chilly nights or as a beach throw!

• 100% Cotton
• Condition: Pre-loved, no tears or stains. Beautiful pastel pink colors which are very rare and hard to find in this region of Guatemala.

• Do not bleach
• Do not tumble dry. Air dry only
