This beautiful vintage Huipil top has been crafted entirely by hand. It showcases a rich deep burgundy backdrop complemented by the exquisite geometric embroidery around the neckline, and most of the top; historically seen in the Mayan village of Nebaj, Quiche, Guatemala.
One of our top sellers, Nebaj blouses are known for their hand-embroidered tribal figures that look like hieroglyphics that are hand-embroidered along with Mayan symbols in horizontal rows to create gorgeous, one-of-a-kind textiles. Angelica, founder of Vida Maya, likes to call this embroidery "the where's waldo of Guatemala". If you look closely, can you find the horses or the Mayan birds?
Wear it with denim or linen pants for a casual picnic day in the sun, or spice it up with a skirt and boots for a fun night out on the town! Either way you wear it, this top is a great piece to add to your ethical wardrobe!
Beautiful and well made.
