This is a spectacular, authentic vintage Huipil fromNahuala, Guatemala.
This is a rare find, not traditional embroidery from this Maya village. This stunning Huipil has a woven-embroidered design of a Mayan Ballplayer and Warriormaking an offering to the Maya temple. The warrior is depicted wearing elaborate animal headdresses. It is possible the Maya thought that adorning oneself with a particular animal head allowed the wearer to take on some of the animal's characteristics. Great piece to add to your ethical wardrobe!
The base material is 100% cotton; making it a thicker material. Wear it with denim or linen pants for a casual picnic day in the sun, or spice it up with a skirt and boots for a fun night out on the town! Either way you wear it, heads will turn towards your boho-stylish self.
Please review measurements below to ensure proper fit. All sales are final.

This vintage Huipil was personally purchased by Angelica, founder of Tesoros Maya. This Huipil was ethically sourced and the artisan was paid fair price.
Please note: The entire piece is genuine hand woven and hand embroidered. Many Huipiles are now embroidered using sewing machine which can also be referred to as 'hand made'. This piece is made entirely without the use of machine.
CARE:
This Huipil was 100% handmade from beginning to end; therefore naturally there will be some imperfections. You could see some loose threads, DO NOT pull just snip with scissors. Or you can use BLOUSE SNAG REPAIR NEEDLE to repair weaving stiches.
For a better care, we recommend hand wash or DELICATE cycle only.
I love these Kimono’s. I wear them over my workout clothes, so then I can stop at the Grocery store on my way home. I also pack in my travel bag, to wear on a cool night or as my robe. I get many compliments.
