This amazing Mayan blouse (Huipil) has a traditional intricate brocade work featuring several different bird, tree of life, and plant designs found in San Pedro Sacatepequez, Guatemala
Hand-woven on a back-strap loom, this top was handcrafted with two panels, each is finely brocaded with small zoomorphic and geometrical patterns (birds, flower vases and the world symbol) on the upper part of the huipil. The v neckline is finely decorated with multicolored threads as well as the embroidered randa that joins the two panels and the arm holds.
When you buy a Huipil, you are truly wearing Guatemalan history and an one-of-a-kind, masterpiece!

This particular huipil is a ‘poncho’ style blouse that is normally worn tucked in or cinched in by a thick belt. This particular square huipil has not been sewn up on either side, making it ideal to wear over a tank top.
Beautiful and well made.
