This stunning, authentic Huipil is originally from the region of San Lucas Toliman, Guatemala.
Vintage and hand-woven on a back-strap loom with 100% cotton, in a vibrant Rich Plum and Violate base. Hand-embroidered on a backstrap loom, this charming huipil top is sure to delight any butterfly enthusiast. In Mayan culture, the Butterfly is a symbol of freedom and life after death or hardship. Within us, a Butterfly can represent freedom from unwanted habits, freedom from past heartache, and freedom of the spirit. The Butterfly may hold special significance to someone who has overcome great adversity.

- This vintage huipil top from San Lucas Toliman is in remarkable condition, showcasing its authentic use. The intricate flower and butterfly design on the backstrap loom is truly captivating. It's worth noting that the bottom fringe is even, a rare characteristic to find. Despite minor imperfections that were tailored sewn and covered with violet thread, this top is in great condition with no stains. Take a close-up look at the photos to see these imperfections, although they are not as noticeable when the huipil top is being worn.

- This Huipil was 100% handmade from beginning to end; therefore naturally there will be some imperfections. You could see some loose threads, DO NOT pull just snip with scissors. Or you can use BLOUSE SNAG REPAIR NEEDLE to repair weaving stiches
